Dr. Becky Aspholm, O.D.
Dr. Aspholm is a new graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry. During her time in optometry school she was a member of the American Optometric Student Association, involved with Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and on the Deanís List. She spent much of my 4th year externships learning about eye disease and treatment. She also had the opportunity to travel to several community service clinics throughout St. Louis as well as the Kansas City VA Medical Center to gain clinical experience during school.
Dr. Aspholm is originally from Charles City, IA, and graduated from Charles City High School in 2002. She then attended Central College in Pella. Dr. Aspholm graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006 with a major in biology and minor in chemistry. She says, "I had a wonderful experience at Central College and was lucky to have the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica and Belize for an ecology class. I am so excited to return to Iowa to be near my family and friends, and also become part of an excellent medical community."
Dr. Aspholm always knew she wanted to be involved in the medical field, and developed a passion for optometry through her own experience wearing glasses/contact lenses. Plus, she was inspired by her local optometrist. She loves taking care of patients and working to improve their lives through vision, and is very much looking forward to serving and becoming a member of the Eastern Iowa community.
